On June 6, 2014 we received this comment:

This is fine news, but it comes too late for us to support these performances.

If there is advance notice, we could seriously use it so we can plan to attend.

Thanks, this is rich information.  I would have loved to hear this performance and I tried to attend, but I just could not pull it off within just a few hours.

Michael Ligon

AfriClassical requested clarification:
Hello Michael,

In order to post your comment, I need to know which performance you have in mind.  Is it the William Grant Still opera or the Noel Pointer Foundation program?

Sincerely,
Bill Zick
Michael Ligon replied:
Hello Bill,

I refer to both: Noel  Pointer's memorial event was on the 4th of June on the East Coast and Highway 1, USA by Still was on the 5th of June at U.C. Irvine.

Each contact with whom I shared this info on both coasts, told me they needed a little more advance to tell friends and make arrangements to attend.  We are seriously interested and thankful to receive this information.

I'm so pleased to attend a performance of composition by composers of the African Diaspora during a non-February time frame that I am willing to change plans, but I do need a little more advance.

Thanks for this rich, rich connection you are providing. Can't thank you enough.

Michael
