Sphinx Named Finalist for National Arts and Humanities Youth Program Awards

Sphinx's Overture program, which provides free violins and lessons to elementary school students in underserved communities within Detroit and Flint, has been named a finalist for the 2014 National Arts and Humanities Youth Program Awards. Presented by the President's Committee on the Arts and the Humanities, this highly competitive award honors outstanding after-school and out-of-school programs that are enriching the lives of young people throughout the country by teaching new skills, nurturing creativity and building self-confidence.
