Sergio A. Mims writes:

I came across this complete 2008 performance of Beethoven's Fidelio with tenor Ronald Samm in the role of Florestan that I wanted to share with you and your readers.

Though it doesn't say so, this performance actually incorporates some music and arias from Beethoven's first version of Fidelio which was titled Leonore and not usually heard at all. Having a recording of Leonore I recognized  the additions made from it made in this performance.

Don Fernando - Thomas Unbedingt
Don Pizzaro - Tomasz Konieczny
Florestan - Ronald Samm
Leonore - Claudia Iten
Rocco  - Wolfgang Bankl
Marzelline - Bernarda Bobro
Jaquino  - Alexander Kaimbacher
First Prisoner- Johannes Thausing
Second Prisoner - Jörg Espenkott

Reinsberg Festival Chorus

Recorded on 2 and 5. August 2008 at the Festival Burgarena Reinsberg Austria
