Please note Ms. Anderson's use of the "royal we" in reference to  Tenor George Shirley during his 1974 interview of her. During his active singing career, George Shirley performed 271 times at the Metropolitan Opera. The "royal" Mr. Shirley donated multiple performances during MusicUNTOLD's 150th Anniversary Emancipation Proclamation Concert, September 22, 2012 co-sponsored by KUSC Classical Radio. Pianist Althea Waites was piano accompanist. Please see picture of Tenor George Shirley and John Malveaux arriving for rehearsal on September 21, 2012.

Thanks
John Malveaux
