Kevin Scott on Ulysses Kay's 'Markings; Symphonic essay to Dag Hammarskjöld': 'This work is indeed one of the finest to come from Kay's pen'

Ulysses Kay Composing (Virginia Kay)

Kevin Scott replies to John Malveaux's post on Ulysses Kay's Markings; Symphonic essay to Dag Hammarskjöld:

This work is indeed one of the finest to come from Kay's pen, and it should have entered the standard repertoire eons ago. To my knowledge, Zubin Mehta was the last conductor to perform it in New York back in the late 1970s, and it is a shame no one has done it since. It is on my list to perform and record one day soon.

At present, I have to initiate the Kickstart on the second volume of his orchestral works.

Thanks for posting this, gentlemen

Sincerely,
Kevin Scott
