Violinist Quinton I. Morris will be in concert on Saturday, January 11 – 2:00 PM at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, 154 West 57^th St. in Manhattan. This concert is presented by MidAmerica Productions and is sold-out.

 

Dr. Morris will be joined by hornist David Jolley and pianist Alastair Edmonstone in performances of Beethoven’s Sonata No. 6 in A major, Op. 30, No. 1, Grieg’s Sonata in C minor, Op. 45 and Brahms’ Horn Trio in E-flat major, Op. 40

Dr. Quinton I. Morris is Director of Chamber and Instrumental Music, and Assistant Professor of Music at Seattle University. He has been on the faculty of the College of Arts and Sciences since 2007. He enjoys a multifaceted career as a concert violinist, chamber musician, educator and entrepreneur.  He has performed solo and chamber music performances all over the world: the United States, Europe, Africa, Asia, Australia and Middle East. Career highlights include solo guest appearances with the Seattle Symphony, a visiting research scholar post at the University of Texas at Austin, two recording contracts with Naxos International Records and a recent TED talk on “The Age of the Artist Entrepreneur”.  For the past two seasons, he has presented recitals in Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall to sold-out audiences.

 

Other notable concert appearances include a recital with Indra Thomas and Byron Schenkman at Seattle’s Benaroya Hall, concerto performances at the Champs-Elyseé Theatre in Paris, the Guildhall School in London, the Roman Catholic Theatre in Bonn, Germany and the Austin Chamber Music Center Chamber Orchestra in Austin, Texas. David Jolley has traveled extensively in North and South America, Europe, East Asia, and Japan, sustaining an active performance career. Mr. Jolley has frequently collaborated with such groups as the Kalichstein-Laredo-Robinson Trio, the Guarneri Quartet, the American String Quartet, the Beaux Arts Trio, Musicians from Marlboro, and the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center.  Mr. Jolley is currently a member of the virtuoso wind quintet Windscape, the Trio Valtorna, with violinist Ida Kavafian and pianist Gilles Vonsattel, and The New York Brass Arts Trio (BAT), with trumpeter Joe Burgstaller and trombonist Haim Avitsur.

 

Alastair Edmonstone has performed as soloist, chamber musician and collaborative pianist throughout the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom. Performances this season include a series of chamber concerts and collaborative recitals at Morgan State University, Towson University, Peabody Conservatory, and Seattle University.
