And if we'd be diligent to scratch for some of the facts pertinent to Sinfonietta's divergent programming decision, chances are high that she had very little clout on the matter. Available reports and stats show that most Conductors of orchestras that have gone this route for new audiences usually ONLY reluctantly obliged their administration's paradigm shift. So, it really would not be fair to level the blame - if any at all, in my view -exclusively on Maestro Chen. And if I may reiterate, it would be fair and indeed appropriate to leave her race out of this discussion...
