The Still Waters Youth Sinfo-Nia of Metropolitan Atlanta is holding its 24th annual two-week Summer Academy (Camp) July 8-19, 2013

The Still Waters Youth Sinfo-Nia of Metropolitan Atlanta is holding its 24th annual two-week Summer Academy (Camp) July 8-19, 2013 Monday through Friday 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM for instrumentalists ages 7 through 18 (college students are also welcomed).  Quality instruction in an exciting, nurturing environment is offered to string players on the beginning, intermediate, and advanced levels (winds and percussion in the advanced level only).

Sinfo-Nia is under the direction of David E. Robinson III, a fifth generation musician and a 30-year veteran string orchestra teacher of the Dekalb County School system in metropolitan Atlanta.  He does youth orchestra workshops, school district honor orchestra clinics, and summer orchestra camps.  One of his prized students is electric violinist/recording artist, Ken Ford - www.kenford.net who has formed the Ken Ford Foundation - http://www.thekenfordfoundation.org/  Two more are playing in symphony orchestra in Georgia, South Carolina, and other places: Dr. Alvoy Bryan, Jr., viola and Ismail Akbar, cello.  One alumna, Dr. Birgitta Johnson is an ethnomusicologist at the University of South Carolina - http://www.music.sc.edu/directory/fs_detail.php?userid=0090
