Soprano Jumi Kim received her doctoral degree from Ball State University, master’s degree from Indiana University, and a bachelor’s degree from Ewha Woman’s University in Seoul, Korea. She has performed as a soprano soloist in Bach Church Cantata BWV 51 and Bach Magnificat with the Symphony of the Vines, in Messiah with The Ball State Symphony Orchestra and in Hodie by Vaughn Williams with The Muncie Symphony Orchestra.  She has also performed in various operatic roles including Suzel in Mascagni’s L’amico Fritz, Donna Elvira in Mozart’s Don Giovanni, Countess in Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro, Gilda in Verdi’s Rigoletto, and Cio-Cio San in Puccini’s Madama Butterfly. Dr. Kim taught voice for several years at both Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion and IPFW (Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne) and she is currently teaching at Cuesta College in San Luis Obispo.
