African Diaspora World Tourism Awards in Atlanta, Georgia on March 23, 2013


The first-ever African Diaspora World Tourism Awards (ADWTA) is set to take place in Atlanta, Ga. USA on March 23, 2013. The gala ceremony will be hosted by celebrated news broadcast personality Monica Kaufman Pearson, winner of 30 Emmy Awards. Presenters for the ADWTA ceremony will include Dr. Djibril Diallo, UN official and coordinator of the US African Diaspora Network; Dr. Gaynelle Henderson, African Diaspora Heritage Trails consultant and president of Henderson Travel Services; and Abdoul Aziz Gueye, director of Senegal Tourism in the US.

The ADWTA 'Hall of Fame' Honorees include: Congressman John Lewis, Dr. Molefi Asante, Ms. Coretta King, Dr. Julius Garvey, actor/activist Danny Glover, Dr. Jean Ping, Director General Hugh Riley, Fela Anikulapo-Kuti, Mr. and Ms. Muhammad and Lonnie Ali, actor/activist Harry Belafonte, Dr. Henry Louis Gates, Ms. Rita Marley, Dr. Cheikh Anta Diop and Prince Kum'a Ndumbe.
