Cellist Jerome Wright and Pianist Glen Sales will be in concert at the Ware Center Concert Hall, Lancaster, Pa. on November 3, 2012 at 7:30 p.m. The program will include Bach Sonata no. 2 for Gamba and Piano, Chopin Sonata for Cello and Piano Op. 65 and the Sonata for Cello and Piano of Rachmaninoff Op. 19.


Cellist Jerome Wright was the former Assistant Principal Cellist of the State Symphony Orchestra under the late Maestro Eleazar de Carvalho in Sao Paulo, Brazil where he was a founding member of the Bridgetower String Quartet mentored by famed cellist George Neikrug.

As a member of the U.S Army White House Strings, he was soloist in concertos by Haydn D Major, Schumann, and Tchaikovsky Rococo Variations. He was a member of the Washington Ballet Piano Trio and String Quartet performing to critical acclaim premiering works at the Kennedy Center by international choreographers, Kevin McKenzie Artistic Director American Ballet Theatre New York, Nils Christie, Ray Barr, Cho San Goh, Martine Van Hamel and Christian Holder.


Recitals include Teatro Municipal and MASPE in Sao Paulo, Brazil, Isabella Stuart Gardner House Museum, Boston, Society of the Cincinnati, Washington D.C., Kennedy Center. Mentors include Cellists George Neikrug, George Seaman, Michael Rudiakov, Yehuda Hanani, Steven Kates.  His instrument is a violoncello by Giovanni Battista Rogeri dated 1677. Mr. Wright has also achieved national recognition as an African American painter.


Pianist Glen Sales is a child prodigy who made his debut with the National Symphony. Performances include the concertos of Beethoven, Chopin and Rachmaninoff. He was featured on PBS in a performance of Chopin's Preludes.

He has been pianist for American Ballet Theatre for over 20 years. He has a long history with Washington Ballet and currently enjoys collaborations with the great Balanchine ballerina Suzanne Farrell and her company. He has played for every major ballet company in the world, to include the Kirov. He is a former pupil of the great pianist Earl Wilde.
