Boston Symphony Orchestra: Conducting Workshop With Thomas Wilkins Saturday, May 4, 2013

[Maestro Thomas Wilkins]

The BSO's Conducting Workshop with Thomas Wilkins serves as a resource for music educators from around the Greater Boston Area, offering the opportunity to learn conducting methods and techniques from Germeshausen Youth and Family Concerts Conductor Thomas Wilkins in a focused workshop setting.

The workshop provides an opportunity for educators and Maestro Wilkins to interact directly in a learning atmosphere of mutual respect and professionalism,  allowing the BSO to serve as a source of professional development for area educators, and seeks to build an informal network of support and collaboration among area teachers from a wide variety of districts and backgrounds.

The conducting workshop is one session offered in the larger BSO Symposium Series for Educators. The audience for this session has been expanded to invite music educators and local amateur conductors, all free of charge. The workshop has been designed to put Thomas Wilkins in direct connection with music educators and amateur conductors from the greater Boston area, allowing Maestro Wilkins to share his expertise and connect personally with this audience.

The 2012-13 conducting workshop will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2013. For more information, email education@bso.org.
