Godwin Sadoh

Nigerian composer and organist Fela Sowande was born May 29, 1905 in
Oyo, Nigeria. Biographer Bode Omojola has called him the “Father
of Nigerian Art Music.” Sowande died 25 years ago today, on March
13, 1987 at a nursing home in Ravenna, Ohio. He is featured at

Professor of Music at Talladega College in Talladega, Alabama. His
