Maestro Thomas Wilkins and the Philadelphia Orchestra perform at Martin Luther King High School at 3:00 p.m. Monday, January 16, 2012 in tribute to Martin Luther King, Jr.:

All tickets for this performance have been distributed. This performance is free and open to the public and seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. Pending availability, general seating for non-ticket holders will take place beginning at 2:30 PM.

“Celebrate the life and work of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with this free community concert. Guest Conductor Thomas Wilkins leads The Philadelphia Orchestra, speaker Charlotte Blake Alston, and the Philadelphia All City Choir. Combining the traditions of African-American culture and Western classical music, the concert pays tribute to Dr. King’s vision of a society free of prejudice and racial divisions, and his belief in the power of music to help create positive change.”
