Sandra Thompson, the Ambassadors' Concert Choir's artistic director, said choir members from throughout the community have been preparing for their annual Christmas Eve concert for several weeks. Choir rehearsals have taken place at St. John Missionary Baptist Church, where the concert will be held, as well as other churches in northeast Oklahoma City.

Thompson said the concert will include Christmas and gospel classics as well as music from “Shout for Joy,” a work by a composer named Adolphus Hailstork. She said the work is about 15 minutes long with brass, organ and choir.

She said brass players will play a prelude about 10 minutes before the show, which will begin at 7 p.m. [Adolphus C. Hailstork (b. 1941) is featured at AfriClassical.com and is one of the most successful African American composers writing today.]
