The founder and president of the Sphinx Organization Inc., Aaron Dworkin, has been named a Champion of Change in Arts Education by the White House. Dworkin went to the White House along with other Champions of Change, including actors Omar Epps, Minnie Driver and Patricia Arquette.

Besides this distinction, Dworkin also was named to the Obama National Arts Policy Committee and was the first nominee to the National Council on the Arts. Dworkin founded Sphinx in 1996 while attending the University of Michigan. He started the organization after noticing a lack of minorities in classical music. [Aaron P. Dworkin (b. 1970) is profiled at AfriClassical.com and has a personal website, http://www.AaronDworkin.com]
