Harpist “Ann Hobson Pilot returns to Ritz Chamber Players with Piazzolla's 'History of the Tango' June 8, 2011, 7:30 p.m.”

[Ann Hobson Pilot, Boston Symphony Harpist for 40 years, with first solo CD, Boston Records BR1002CD (1991)]

The website of harpist Ann Hobson Pilot, http://www.annhobsonpilot.com/, is filled with news these days. The home page of her website invites visitors to “Watch the video exclusive of 'On Willows and Birches' on BSO website.” We also learn that “Ann Hobson Pilot is scheduled to perform on the evening of July 26 at the 2011 World Harp Congress in Vancouver.” Another announcement is: “New Ann Hobson Pilot documentary A Harpist’s Legacy – Ann Hobson Pilot and the Sound of Change will be aired on PBS stations nationwide beginning with WGBH - Boston in July, 2011.”

The playing of Ann Hobson Pilot appears on many recordings. Her first solo harp CD is pictured above and can be purchased for $16 from Boston Records Classical Corporation. I have my copy saved on my computer and on my iPod, and have enjoyed it many times. Composers include J.S. Bach, Arcangelo Corelli, Paul Hindemith and Carlos Salzedo.
