2011 Featured Author's Event
February 26, 2011
10:30am – 12:00pm
Dear ASALH Member:
On Saturday, February 26, 2011, the Association for the Study of African American Life and History (ASALH) will hold its 85th Annual Black History Month Luncheon at the Washington Renaissance Hotel, 999 9th Street, NW, Washington, DC. Prior to the luncheon, from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM, we will host a Featured Authors' event. While we encourage authors whose books relate to African Americans and all aspects of the Civil War to participate, registration is not limited to titles pertaining to the theme. Space is limited!!
The 2011 Black History Month theme is: African Americans and the Civil War. One Hundred Forty-Six (146) years have passed since the Union defeated the Confederacy, declaring an end to chattel slavery. Though this was not the only war fought by Africans on American soil, it is arguably the most important. With that said, we are looking to showcase books that compliment our theme. If you are interested in participating in this event as an author, please submit the Featured Authors' Event Request Form to the address indicated on the form.
Share this information with individuals who you think may be interested. For further information on this event, or general luncheon inquiries, please visit http://www.asalh.org/Annual_Luncheon.html. Thank you for your consideration. See you in February.
Sincerely,
Karen May
