[Richard C. Alston as “Jasbo Brown”]
On March 9, 2010 AfriClassical posted: “Richard C. Alston is 'Jasbro Brown' in New Jersey State Opera's 'Porgy and Bess' May 21 & 23.” We explained that Richard, a classical pianist, had performed the same role in the Metropolitan Opera production of “Porgy and Bess.” Today we received this update from him, announcing a 1-minute YouTube promotional video:
“Here is the first commercial for 'Porgy and Bess' produced by the New Jersey State Opera. You will hear the opening bars of my solo 'Jasbo Brown Blues' (I will perform this at the very beginning of the opera) at the end of the commercial.
