Claire Detels: Florence Price's 'Sonata in E Minor' is '25 minutes long and it's a real bravura work'

[Florence B. Price]

On March 9, 2010 AfriClassical posted: “Pianist Claire Detels Performs Florence B. Price's 'Sonata in E Minor,' Fayetteville, Ark. March 23.” Claire Detels is Professor Emerita, University of Arkansas. We have since requested more information about the program. Prof. Detels replies to the inquiry from AfriClassical: “Hi Bill, Below are some program details. I'm just doing the Price Sonata this time, but it's 25 minutes long and it's a real bravura work, probably her biggest outside of the Symphony in E minor. Thanks for helping to spread the word!”

Comment by email:
I'm available to do these programs for non-profit venues by means of matching grants from the Arkansas Artists on Tour, and the Mid-America Arts Alliance, so if you know of interested parties who can't get to Fayetteville, I could come to them. All best, Claire
