Kevin Scott Conducts SUNY Orange Symphonic Band in 'Waters Ho!' 8 PM Oct. 23

AfriClassical has learned from Prof. Dominique-René de Lerma that the African American conductor Kevin Scott will conduct the SUNY Orange Symphonic Band in a concert at 8 PM on Oct. 23, 2009. The music has an historical theme related to the 400-year anniversary of the exploration of Henry Hudson and Samuel de Champlain. The location of the concert is the Paramount Theatre in Middletown, New York. Kevin Scott will join Paul Basinski in a discussion of the music before the concert, at 7:30 PM.
