
“In addition to these performances, James DePreist will participate in Seattle Symphony’s American Conductors Project, a new initiative funded by a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts that brings together many of the nation’s leading conductors for a series of free panel discussions about the role of the American music director. DePreist will discuss 'The Next Generation,' and will be joined by music journalist Melinda Bargreen. The discussion will take place on Wednesday, May 27, from 6 to 7 p.m. in Soundbridge Seattle Symphony Music Discovery Center.
