Comment: “If the song is one that's unknown, the owner must make it available for study!”

On Nov. 4, 2008 AfriClassical posted: Harry T Burleigh wrote a song for my Great Aunt Harriot while they were @ a family picnic...” JW made a comment on the same day: “If the song is one that's unknown, the owner must make it available for study! I'd love to see it.” We would be happy to put the owner of the song in touch with Black Classical Music scholars, including JW; our principal adviser, Dr. Dominique-René de Lerma; Rashida Black of the Myrtle Hart Society; and Suzanne Flandreau, Head Librarian and Archivist of the Center for Black Music Research at Columbia College Chicago. [The African Ameerican composer and bass baritone Henry “Harry” Thacker Burleigh (1866-1949) is profiled at AfriClassical.com, where a complete Works List and Bibliography can be found as a result of the generosity of Dominique-René de Lerma, who compiled them.]
