Today AfriClassical posted news that Sergio Mims of WHPK-FM in Chicago has scheduled a broadcast of the Violin Concerto in F-sharp Minor (21:24) of Joseph White, also known as José Silvestre White. It will be the first work in the program, which begins at Noon and concludes at 3:00 pm. on Tuesday, June 24. Mike S. Wright, Chair, International Society of African to American Music, sends us this comment: “I hope many get to hear it - a brilliant work played by a brilliant violinist. There should be dozens of versions of this fine work in the catalogue (or catalog!).”
