Eric Conway: Morgan's JáVonn Bright Performed in Florence, Italy with his group La Bella Voce Music Ensemble & was nominated for Blessed Angel Medallion

Dr. Eric Conway writes:

Hello Morgan Fine Arts Community,

One of Morgan's Music majors, JaVonn Bright, just returned from Florence, Italy, after performing with his vocal group - La Bella Voce Music Ensemble.  He was excited to share with me that he had been nominated to receive the Medaglia Beato Angelico or in English: Blessed Angel Medallion, one of the Italy's highest artistic honors, established by the Pope.

In December, the sponsors will fly JaVonn back to Florence to receive this honor. See attached a flyer created by the sponsors of the award congratulating him on this honor.

Once again, Morgan students are making a significant impact in the world - Growing the Future - Leading the World!

Dr Conway, I arrived back from Italy this morning. You would be proud to know that this Morgan student, after performing, was nominated to receive the "Blessed Angel Medallion", which is equivalent to our: Kennedy Center Honors. They will fly me back in December to receive the award! This award is commissioned by the pope. Last year's recipient was Andrea Bocelli! I am the first African American and American to be nominated.
- the best comes out of Morgan!

Regards,
JáVonn Bernard Bright
