I have been privileged to meet Rita Coburn Whack, director/producer of Maya Angelou STILL I RISE documentary several times. Three poems (GREYDAY, SOUNDS LIKE PEARLS, TEARS) by Maya Angelou were set to music and performed Friday February 10, 2017, during the African American Art Song Alliance 20th Anniversary celebration at University of California, Irvine. Composer and pianist was Brittney Elizabeth Boykin. Lenora Green-Turner was soprano. Unfortunately, i was not at the conference Friday but I initiated a conversation with Brittney on Saturday, February 11, 2017. See pic with Brittney
