SONIC SAFARI with SONGS OF AFRICA: A FREE CONCERT! Danforth University Center @ Washington University, St. Louis, Tues., Dec. 15, 2015, 7:30PM

"Sonic Safari" is a concert of songs from around Africa. Songs with the universal themes of peace, reflection, celebration and community building. In meditation on greater peace and empathy around the world, the concert will begin with reflective chants from the Shamaye and Obamba forest peoples of Gabon. Of course, in celebration of this season of lights, charity and joy the concert will continue with a variety of songs from Kenya, Namibia, Ghana, Botswana, Benin, Cameroon, the Congos, Nigeria, Uganda, South Africa and from other regions of Africa. Some songs are communal and interactive, often inviting the audience to join in celebrating the joys of the holiday season.
