Art of Élan: Young Artists In Harmony For #GivingTuesday

Young Artists in Harmony program at A Reason To Survive (ARTS)

It's hard to believe that it's already December and that we're almost halfway through our 9th season of concerts!

We have much to be grateful for:  so far this season we have witnessed highly successful performances at The Glashaus in Barrio Logan and at The San Diego Museum of Art, as well as an exciting debut performance at the Jacobs Music Center's Copley Symphony Hall in a first-ever collaboration with the San Diego Symphony. But the initiative we are most proud of has been taking place in National City each Saturday in partnership with A Reason To Survive (ARTS), a nationally recognized organization that believes in the power of the arts and creativity to literally transform lives - especially those of kids facing adversity.

Consisting of weekly workshops, where ARTS Empower students have the opportunity to be mentored by Art of Élan musicians, the residency culminates at 2pm NEXT SATURDAY, December 12th, with a unique multidisciplinary and collaborative "Young Artists in Harmony" concert, featuring originally composed music by ARTS Empower students (performed by Art of Élan musicians) alongside painting and poetry also created by ARTS students. We invite you to join us for this FREE open house concert at A Reason To Survive (ARTS)  in National City and witness firsthand the transformative power of the arts. This is a FREE EVENT--no tickets necessary!

To make things even MORE exciting, arts advocate Carol Lazier and the Stensrud Foundation have offered their support of this educational initiative with a $5000 challenge grant. Any amount donated between now and December 31st will be matched dollar for dollar, up to $5000. In honor of #GIVING TUESDAY, please consider lending your voice and your resources to this amazing partnership--we are hoping to turn this residency into a year-round program starting next fall!

We thank you for all that you already do to make San Diego a vibrant, cultural destination, and we look forward to seeing you at a concert soon!
