John Malveaux of www.MusicUNTOLD.com writes:

Ed was a close friend of past years when he lived in Los Angeles. I thought of him many times last week. In an effort to expand accesss to the arts, MusicUNTOLD provided FREE tickets to attend Long Beach Symphony performance on March 10, 2013 of Stravinsky's RITE OF SPRING. Ed Bland turned his attention to classical composing after hearing RITE OF SPRING. Also Long Beach Symphony  Bassoonist Julie Feves recorded FOR BASSOON on the URBAN CLASSICAL  The Music of Ed Bland CD. Long Beach resident and professor Althea Waites recorded SKETCHES SET SEVEN on the same CD. My prayers for Ed, wife, and daughter.
