John Malveaux: 'I attended a reception for Maestro DePreist when he was...the new adviser to the Pasadena Symphony.'

James DePreist
Fanfare Magazine, November-December 1995

Maestro James DePreist is being remembered from the perspective of each of the communities in which he worked in his lengthy career.  The Oregon Symphony was elevated dramatically during his 23-year tenure.  Among other communities which benefited greatly from his professional attention was Pasadena:

John Malveaux of www.MusicUNTOLD.com writes:

I attended a reception for DePreist when he was introduced to Pasadena and beyond community as the new adviser to the Pasadena Symphony. He and his wife were a striking team.  I also saw him conduct the Pasadena Symphony from his wheelchair.
