“WOLFEBORO — The fifth program celebrating Wolfeboro Friends of Music's 75th Season features pianist William Chapman Nyaho. The performance will be held at Brewster Academy's Anderson Hall, 205 South Main St., Sunday, Feb. 13, at 2 p.m.

“Nyaho, a Ghanaian American and resident of Seattle, brings a unique cultural background and extraordinarily eclectic sense of music to the concert hall. Celebrated poet Maya Angelou was compelled to write that his performances bring 'moments of discovery so delicious that the listeners will be made to laugh out loud and to compliment - themselves at their good fortune in finding this pianist.' Such talent has earned Nyaho the prestigious honor of performing Wednesday, February 16, at the National Gallery of Art Concerts Series, National Gallery of Art, Washington, DC.

“As a regular guest clinician, Nyaho gives lecture-recitals and workshops advocating music by composers of the African heritage. His expertise in doing so earned him the following accolades from college professor Charlotte Y. Kroeker, Ph.D., of Whitworth College, Spokane, WA.: 'Not only did Nyaho hold their attention until after the end of the period, but they gave him a standing ovation and were shouting 'encore!' On Monday, Feb. 14, Nyaho will present a 45-minute program for all students in the third through sixth grades in the Gov. Wentworth Regional School District. Also invited to this program will be home schoolers as well as Cornerstone Academy students at the same level.
