William B. Woods Conducts R. Nathaniel Dett Concert Choir at Baldwin-Wallace College Mar. 28

Dr. William B. Woods has kindly provided AfriClassical with the program of the March 28, 2010 event at which Baldwin-Wallace College of Berea, Ohio will host the R. Nathaniel Dett Concert Choir:

The Baldwin-Wallace Singers, with Melvin Unger, conductor, and guests the R. Nathaniel Dett Concert Choir of the Cleveland School of the Arts, William B. Woods, conductor. Time: 4:00 pm Location: Kulas Gamble Auditorium.”

The Cleveland School of the Arts is a specialty arts school in the Cleveland Metropolitan School District that incorporates all aspects of the arts into its teaching approach.
William B. Woods directs the Intermediate Concert Choir, JazzArt Ensemble and the R. Nathaniel Dett Concert Choir at CSA. He is originally from Gadsden, Alabama and received his training from Tennessee State University and Western Reserve University (now Case Western Reserve University). His distinguished career spans more than four decades, during which time he has become one of the most respected choral directors in this country. The Cleveland Institute of Music conferred upon him the Honorary Doctorate of Music degree at its 74th Commencement Ceremony in 2000. The Dett Choir enjoys national recognition and has enhanced the reputation of the school by establishing a model of excellence in performance.
