“Music Revival At New Year
Christopher Duigan presents four solo piano concerts in Pietermaritzburg for the new year.
Music Revival’s popular year-end concert performances are once again on the cards, offering a welcome respite from the holiday rush and an opportunity to be entertained over the festive season.

“Christopher Duigan will play a selection of music for solo piano from his highly successful Play Piano Play! This pianistic bonanza with a contemporary 'cross cultural' slant focuses on music that makes the piano sing, dance and jump!

"Included are selections of contemporary film music by Richard Guinness and Yann Tiersen, Gershwin's My One and Only, JS Bach’s Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring, Manuel de Falla's Ritual Fire Dance, Scott Joplin's Elite Syncopations, tangos by Brazilian Ernesto Nazareth and by Argentina's Astor Piazzolla. These rub shoulders with brilliant virtuoso concert pieces by Frederic Chopin and Liszt's toe-tapping Hungarian Rhapsody No 2.

“Concerts take place on December 30 and 31 and January 2 at 19h30 as well as on January 3 at 15h30 at 35 Montgomery Drive, Athlone in Pietermaritzburg.” [Scott Joplin is profiled at AfriClassical.com]
