Dr. Timothy Holley (cello) will present a faculty recital, “Spirit Songs: Flowers for the Elders,” which is a tribute to African-American composers. Other musicians include pianists Candace Bailey, Thomas Warburton and Derison Duarte. This recital is in honor of Frederick C. Tillis, T. J. Anderson, Barbara Cooke, and Hale Smith. Dr. Timothy W. Holley is an Assistant Professor of Music; and Director, University Honors Program.
Timothy W. Holley is a graduate of Baldwin-Wallace College and the University of Michigan.” “His doctoral dissertation focused on the cello music of African-American composers, and he continues to be active in the study and performance of African-American concert music.”
